Communication & Solidarity
Communication is key to everything we do. It is at the core of our commitment to transparency and engagement. During our time is office, we along with the dedicated volunteers of C12 have improved Member engagement by 50% through our Open Forum Townhalls, special quarterly newsletters.
Continuing this mission next term we will work to further expand our solidarity and meet our Members where they are. We have expanded our educational sessions on Contract language raising participation by 40%.
When Members feel empowered in their Contract knowledge they are better able to protect the integrity of our JCBA every day. Together we can continue to hold the company accountable and utilize every provision we have fought for.
Grievance & Contractual Enforcement
No one ever wants to find themselves in the grievance process. Whether due to Contractual violations or matters of discipline having the right team fighting for you makes all the difference.
This past term we have overseen and guided hundreds of grievance cases. We have resolved over 80% favorably through proactive intervention before escalation.
We have worked closely alongside AFA Legal and MEC Grievance to secure reinstatements, back-pay settlements and fair contract application.
Clear communicaiton throughout the grievance process is about more than keeping a Member informed. It is about transparency, providing support and peace of mind during times of concern and stress.
The Labor movement is critical to our current and future success as a Unionized workforce. We have worked hard to establish relationships across multiple industries and Union sectors to strengthen our collective efforts.
As active Members of CWA District 9, representing C12 Members as part of this community, these relationships improve working conditions, advocate for fair contracts and align our mission among all workers.
Our continued relationships have supported our Day’s of Action, visibility and promoted our message across the nation. We will continue to promote and grow our presense among our fellow labor Unions and suport them in their fight as they support us in ours.
