My fellow Los Angeles and San Diego Flight Attendants, I am Tim Trueman. With your help I would like to be your next Local Council 12 Vice President.
Having been a Union Activist for the past 36 of my 38 years of flying, union work is never ending. I have had the honor of representing you as Vice President for the past 3 years, as well as being a Council Representative for 6 years prior. Thank you so much Council 12 members for your trust in me. I always strive to work hard for your needs, I strive to maintain the integrity of our contract, and the dignity that our career provides.
Protecting our Members, advocating for change
Your grievances are at the top of that list. Union work can be thankless but humbly gratifying when ‘the wins’ happen. From stopping one of us from being discharged, getting discipline removed or reduced, and making the Company to pay the Flight Attendant for lost income, the victories are small but continue to propel me forward. With your vote I hope to do more.
More must be done! We need a contract that is highly valued by all of us, not just a few! We need existing contract language adhered to by the Company, not just when it is convenient for them. I will never stop being your advocate regardless of having a title next to my name or not. Fairness on the job is something we fight for! It is never given by those in power or those with wealth.
